Pretty insightful look into diet and cognitive function。 What intrigued me was the authors lack of a background in the field。 I feel as if most reviews reflected negatively on this, but I believe it gave Max a clearer perspective on the topic。 He wanted answers for his mother’s decline as she battled dementia, and he went for it。

My rating might be a reflection of my format: I listened to the audiobook so I didn’t have access to resources referenced。 I just really, really wish these types of nutrition books had habit building/breaking plans included that were realistic and obtainable。 You can tell me all you want what I should be doing, but many people have many obstacles and roadblocks that shouldn’t be ignored。

I love this book, that said, it took me awhile to finish。 Reading here & there, it’s a dense book, dropping a lot of (cited) knowledge。 The author also encourages you to branch out & not trust everything out read。 Look at the sources provided and draw your own conclusions。 I’ve been on a long health journey & know the Genius Foods are good for me but this book Really digs in to WHY。 It’s important & gives me more drive to straighten out my diet while still in my 40’s。

I have read many books dealing with health/wellness and aging and for the most part they usually seem repetitive, but this book is full of useful information, intriguing recipes, helpful studies, and much, much more! I highly recommend buying a hard copy of this book。 or taking detailed notes to reference later in life。 This is also a book that I would read again because there is so much information and I wouldn’t want to miss any of it。
